BANGLADESH PRESIDENT TO VISIT INDIA

Webdesk, TNI New Delhi, 17th December, 2014: In a press notification by the Media Centre of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India it has been that H.E. Mr. Md Abdul Hamid, President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, will pay an official visit to India from 18-23 December 2014. Earlier the President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee, had invited him to visit India and also to be a guest in Rashtrapati Bhawan. According to the tour schedule of the President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh will meet with the President of India. He will also meet the Vice President of India, the Prime Minister, External Affairs Minister and other senior leaders. He is scheduled to visit places of historical and cultural importance both in and outside Delhi. This visit will be the first visit by a ceremonial Head of State of Bangladesh since 1972. The President of India had paid a State visit to Bangladesh in March 2013. The visit of the Bangladesh President will contribute to further strengthening and expanding the close bilateral relations between our two countries.
